Technical Specifications :

Known as surge arrester has a high voltage terminal and a ground terminal ·	Low protection level (=1.3 kV) is achieved by a specially coordinated protection circuit
When a lightning surge or switching surge travels down the power system to the arrester	Low protection level makes it unnecessary to install decoupling inductances
The current from the surge is diverted around the protected insulation in most cases to earth	To provide additional lengths of conductor between lightning arresters
